Young citizen journalists reporting from international disarmament conferences

Atomic Reporters & SYP UK Partnership:

Student/Young Pugwash (SYP) UK is pleased to support the work of Atomic Reporters (here), who will be sending a team of citizen journalists to Vienna to cover three back-to-back disarmament conferences this month.

From mid-June, the team from Atomic Reporters will be at:

• The first meeting of member states to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (the ‘Ban Treaty’)
• The 2022 Vienna Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons
• The ICAN Nuclear Ban Forum, for civil society group and campaigners

SYP UK will be using its social media (TW / FB) to share the coverage and takes of the young reporters, followed by a joint event to hear about the key debates and outcomes from the conferences.

The Vienna conferences represent an important challenge to the nuclear arms race and will remind the world of the human impacts of nuclear war. More here
