Trump or Clinton: Implications for International Security

trump-clinton-bannerWarwick Pugwash Student Society (WPSS) held its first event of the academic year on 3rd November 2016, just a few days before the US Presidential election.

The guest speaker was Rory Kinane, Warwick alumnus and manager of the US and Americas Programme at Chatham House.

Rory gave a wide-ranging presentation covering the (often changeable) foreign policy positions of the two Presidential candidates, recent volatility in the international security environment and also described the limits on Presidential power within the US system of government. This was followed by a lively Q&A covering, among other things, climate change negotiations, relations with Saudi Arabia and various legal issues the candidates may or may not face in the future.

Special thanks to the co-hosts Warwick International Relations Society and, of course, Rory.
