2 October, 18.00-19:30 (UK)

The US Government recently announced its decision to pursue a space-based missile
defence system. Although this is not a new idea, the geopolitical, economic and technological context in which this initiative is developing has raised new questions regarding the possible impact of the system on nuclear strategic stability.
Our first webinar set the scene with an overview of the current status of the Golden Dome for America (GDA). This second session will address the technical realities of the GDA, detailing possible architectures and capabilities, including sensors and constellations, and ballistic and hypersonic missile defence.
Panellists
- Dr. Laura Grego (Senior Researcher Director, Union of Concerned Scientists)
Laura will be speaking on ballistic missile defence, including midcourse and
boost phase.
- Todd Harrison (Senior Fellow, American Enterprise Institute)
Todd will be speaking on sensors and constellations.
- Dr. Cameron Tracy (Research Scholar, UC Berkeley, Goldman School of Public
Policy)
