The Nuclear Weapons Policy Liaison Group

First convened in 2008, this group of experts has continued to meet regularly to coordinate and maintain effective and positive working links with parliamentarians across the political spectrum on UK nuclear weapons issues, in particular in relation to the renewal of the UK’s Trident nuclear weapons system.

This informal collaboration of experts has continued to meet regularly and work to interact positively with decision makers on nuclear weapons-related issues. It has continued to monitor developments on the Trident replacement front.

Further funding received from Network for Social Change in 2014 enabled the group to appoint a Parliamentary Liaison Officer in anticipation of an increased intensity of work during the run-up to the general election of May 2015, and as a consequence of the debates arising out of the Scottish independence referendum.
